Q is for QUEEN BEE

In and around the Museum there are a number of representative
designs of beehive ranging from wood to polystyrene.

A bee-keeping display has been put together by two HND
Countryside Management students and can be seen in
the Burderop Barn. Adjoining the Museum is Lackham Wood
within which are a series of active beehives maintained by
Melksham Beekeepers. The colonies are now well
established and Lackham honey is now extracted and sold.

To find out more about bee-keeping at Lackham where
courses are regularly held, please contact the tutor and
Chairman of Melksham Beekeepers,
Paul Templeton Tel: 01380 850857.
